How to approve on a mobile (Android)
Step 1
Open the app and tap on the Approvals tab
Step 2
BigHand will then display the list of items ready for your approval.
Tap on a document to open it
Step 3
Review the document on screen.
Click on the thumbs down to reject the letter
Click on the thumbs up to accept the letter.
Nb. You are unable to make changes through the mobile app if there are amendments that need to be made, will require the rejection of a letter.
Step 4
If you reject a dictation you will be asked to enter in any rejection notes as to what needs to be amended.
Once entered. Click on the Submit button.
Step 5
If you are approving that dictation, it will ask you to click and hold the thumbs up button for 5 seconds in order to approve.
How to use clinic builder to create letters
Step 1
From the ‘Tasks’ screen, tap this icon and choose ‘Settings’
Step 2
You can now change any personal preferences
Step 3
Select ‘Appointments’ tab along the bottom of the screen.
Tap the circled icon. You will need to select ‘All Clinics’ to view all clinician names and clinics.
Or select ‘My Clinics’ to view only your own.
Step 4
From the ‘Appointments’ folder, type the clinician surname into the search bar.
Scroll to find the required clinician name and clinic date.
Tap to select
Step 5
Scroll through to locate the patient you wish to dictate on
Tap to select
Step 6
Start recording by tapping the blue microphone button
Stop, rewind, fast forward and overwrite can all be selected once initial recording is created
Once recorded, tap the button on the bottom right of screen
Step 7
Select the required workflow, priority and document type. All other boxes will be automatically filled in.
There is also an option to add notes/change title if required.
Tap the ‘Send’ arrow.
Step 8
A tick will show to indicate that the dictation has been sent. It will now show in the Work in Progress folder
How to create an adhoc letter
Step 1
From the ‘Tasks’ screen, choose the + icon (bottom right)
Step 2
Start recording by tapping the blue microphone button.
Stop, rewind, fast forward and overwrite can all be selected once initial recording is created
Once recorded, tap the button on the bottom right of screen
Step 3
Select the required Workflow, Priority and Document Type. Ensure that you fill in the MRN and name of the patient.
Tap the ‘Send’ arrow
The dictation will now appear in the Work in Progress folder
