Microsoft Apps on a personal / Trust device
What does the 'new normal' mean for MKUH Data?
For the past couple of years, more people have started working from home and have access to Trust data in Microsoft apps like Outlook, Teams etc on their personal devices than ever before. Whilst this allows greater flexibility, this also means our IT Security must be even stronger 💪
Microsoft Intune is how the Trust secures its many devices (laptops, desktops, WoWs, iPads, iPhones etc) allowing us to push out updates and our security policies. This includes securing our data on any mobile devices that access our Microsoft apps, allowing us to control and wipe that data should the need arise.
What this means for you...
- To continue to access our company data, you will need to download, install, and sign up to the Intune Company Portal
- You will need to setup an additional layer of security (PIN / Fingerprint Recognition or Facial ID) when accessing the Trust Microsoft Apps. Not only does this mean our data is secure should your phone be stolen, but it also ensures that any friends and family cannot accidentally see or access any confidential Trust data should they be using the personal apps on your device. You will be prompted for this PIN every 30 minutes.
Device Requirements
❌Jailbroken or Rooted devices are prohibited.
✅Apple devices need to be using the latest iOS
✅Android OS should be 9 or above.
Other things to note
- All Trust data is encrypted.
- For data loss prevention purposes, you cannot print, cut, copy, paste or save any data from the Trust Microsoft apps to personal apps. You will be unable to back up any Trust data.
- Should your device be inactive on Microsoft Intune for more than 90 days, all Trust MS apps will be automatically wiped from your device.
⛔ Please note these security measures are non-negotiable for anyone wishing to access the Trusts data on a personal / Trust device.
