Windows 11 Upgrade
We are currently updating PC’s and laptops from Windows 10 to Windows 11, this allows us to keep up to date with the latest features and further enhance our cyber security protection.
This is an in-place upgrade, so will occur without intervention from the IT Department.
Windows 11 is like Windows 10 in many functions, however the location of icons and menus have changed, we have highlighted the main differences below.
Start Button / Start Menu
The traditional Windows Start button where you can sign out/lock your device or go to your applications has moved from the bottom left-hand corner of the screen to the middle of the task bar.
Start Menu
When you click on the Start Button, this will launch the start menu, where you can search, pin and access all your applications and recent documents*
At the bottom of the start menu on the left, you will see your profile name, from here you can sign out, switch user or lock the screen.
Power Button
On the right-hand side, you will have the power icon, here you can shut down or restart your PC and access the sign-in settings.
