Navigator Bands and How to add (or remove) items from the listing (under Assessments/Fluid Balance)
Within a patient record in PowerChart, When viewing Assessments/Fluid Balance; The listing of items such as Adult Quick View, Labour, NNU Quick View etc. will vary depending on the defaults setup for the users’ smartcard role i.e. a Nurse will typically see a different set of “Navigator Bands” than a Midwife.
These are customisable by the end user and can be added or removed via the top menu (while having Assessments/Fluid Balance open in a patient record): View – Layout – Navigator Bands
This will open the Navigator Documents window which shows all the users’ current active bands in the box to the right. After selecting an item in the right hand box this document type can be moved up or down the listings of Assessments/Fluid Balance (or removed) using the Up, Down and Right arrow keys
To add a missing Document Type, Select from the list of Available Document Types in the box on the Left hand side, them move it into Current Document Types using the Right arrow.
If an item is missing from Assessments/Fluid Balance that would normally be included under one of the Navigator Bands (e.g. Central Line or Peripheral IV might be missing under Adult Lines – Devices:
This can be turned ON or OFF from the top menu (while having the relevant section of Assessments/Fluid Balance open within a patient record) – Options – Customise View
A tick in the box for these items will cause them to be present within the Navigator Band (tick / untick as required and then “OK”)
