Planned Change - Acute User List

We have made an important update to how our main hospital distribution list (DL) works—the one used to send key updates, announcements, and the weekly roundup to staff.
❓What’s Changing?
We’ve moved from a manually managed list called **Acute-AllUsers to a dynamic managed list called **Team - MKUH.
That means instead of someone having to manually add or remove people from the mailing list, the system will now automatically update the list based on specific criteria.
The new list will include staff who:
- Have an MKUH mailbox (example lynne.scofield@mkuh.nhs.uk)
- Have Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as their company, on their Active Directory account.
Active Directory is where all accounts for users, PCs and groups are held.
🎯Why?
This change was requested by the Communications Team, however it also offers us wider benefits:
-
Accuracy: No more outdated or incomplete lists.
-
Efficiency: As soon as a new account is added and matches the above criteria, it will be added to the dynamic list.
-
Targeted: Ensures that communications are targeted, reaching only the staff who need to receive them.
👥 Will This Affect Me?
If you’re a current staff member with a mailbox and are registered under MKUH, you won’t need to do anything. You’ll continue receiving the usual communications just as before.
If you notice you’ve stopped receiving important messages since the change, please contact the Communications Team.
📢Note: As before, only designated individuals are permitted to send emails to the new distribution list.
