Planned Change - Cisco desk phones entering power save mode
We’ve updated the power saving settings on Cisco desk phones.
Desk phones have entered a scheduled power save mode between 6pm and 7:30am the following morning.
We’ve now changing this so that phones will enter power save mode automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Why are we making this change?
Additional power savings will help reduce power consumption and cost to the Trust.
What does this mean for you?
When your phone enters power save mode:
➡️ The LCD screen will turn off.
➡️ A low-level light on the phone will remain on. This may stay solid or “pulse” to indicate the phone is ready to be woken.
➡️ Incoming calls will still ring as normal—the phone will wake up automatically.
➡️ You can wake the phone immediately by lifting the handset or pressing any button.
After one minute of no interaction, the phone will return to power save mode.
What should you do?
No action is needed. Simply wake the phone when you need it, or answer calls as usual.
