Moving from Office 2010 - Office 365
Any instance of Word, Excel, Outlook etc that are part of Office 2010, will be removed from all PCs in the Trust starting 21st September 2020.
How do I know if I am using Office 2010?
The icons will look similar to the below
Why is Office 2010 being removed?
The Trust has purchased Microsoft 365 Licenses, in preparation for Office 2010 and associated applications coming to the end of support.
What does end of support mean?
Microsoft will no longer provide updates, technical support, bug fixes, or security fixes for Office 2010 vulnerabilities. This includes security updates which can help protect your PC from harmful viruses, spyware, and other malicious software.
What version can I use going forward?
We should all be using Microsoft 365. The Trust has purchased various licenses: E1s, which utilise the Office for the Web applications and E3 & E5 which can use either online or the M365 Office client.
All staff are licensed for the Office for the Web applications and you can start using http://www.office.com/ straight away. Just click sign in and login with your M365 login and long password.
If you have an E3 or E5 license, you should have Microsoft 365 installed onto your PC. M365 icons look like the below.
If you still have Office 2010 your PC will be updated in time.
How do I check my license?
Please follow the steps in this solution: What M365 license do I have?
If you feel you should have a different M365 license, an upgrade can be purchased by using this form: Microsoft 365 Licensing
