Checklist for Working from Home (WFH) with a Trust Laptop
If you've decided to work from home and have received a Trust laptop, please follow this checklist to ensure smooth access and functionality:
1.Initial Login at the Hospital
Before using the laptop from home, log in at the hospital first. This step caches your credentials so the laptop will recognise you when you log on from home / off site.
Note: Without this initial login on the MKUH network, you won’t be able to access the laptop off site.
2.Connect to the VPN
Make sure to connect to the VPN when working remotely, as most applications will require this connection to function properly.
3.Troubleshoot VPN Connection Issues
If you experience VPN connection problems, please refer to our troubleshooting guide. Some internet providers may block the VPN, which could affect connectivity.
4.Bring the Laptop Back Regularly for Updates
To keep your laptop secure and up-to-date, bring it back to the Trust periodically (every 4 weeks). This ensures it syncs and receives essential updates. Failure to do so, could mean your laptop is disabled, as explained in the below solution.
