If you're satisfied, proceed by clicking the “PRINT” button. 4. Print Preview: The print preview window will open. 5. Set the Number of Copies: If you need more than one copy, adjust the "Copies" setting accordingly (e.g., for 3 copies, change "Copies" to 3). Then, click “Print.” 6. How To Print Multiple Labels for Selected Resources
The application will need to be provided with a list of MRNs and Resources to print labels for. To do this, please create a Microsoft Excel worksheet with all the MRNs and Resources required for printing as shown below. Note - The column header MRN must be in cell A1. Note - The column header Resource must be in cell B1. Click the button “Upload MRNs” and select the Excel file you just created in step 1. The resources should appear in the table along with how many labels per MRN will print, how many MRNs there are per resource, and how many labels will print per resource. How to Use the Table Search for Resources: Use the search filter to easily find the resources you need. This helps you manage and set the label count. Set Label Count for All: Choose a number from the dropdown menu to set the same label count for all MRNs across all resources. For example, selecting "4" will print 4 labels for each MRN for every resource. Set Individual Label Counts: If you need a different number of labels for specific resources, you can manually set the label count for each MRN individually. Preview MRNs: Click the ‘#’ icon to view the list of MRNs that will have labels printed for that particular resource.

Patient Label Errors Help
If you see an error message that says any of these: This MRN has returned more than one active address or it has returned more than one patient. The patient was not found in the database. No address was found for the patient. No date of birth was found for the patient. Either the first or last name could not be found for this patient. No sex was found for the patient. Then there is an issue with the MRN provided and you need to log a ticket to Back Office to see if they can fix the patient details. If you see an error message that says any of these: Uploaded file is not in the correct format. Please ensure cell A1 in the excel sheet is 'MRN' followed by a list of MRNs. Uploaded file is not in the correct format. Please ensure cell A1 in the Excel sheet is 'MRN' and B1 is 'Resource'. Then you need to ensure the excel files are formatted correctly. You can see how to format the excel sheets in the user guide or fresh solutions.

Understanding eCARE printing
🤯easier said than done, but here goes.... eCARE printing is divided into different types: Frontend Printing ➡️Used for patient letters, lists and labels** ➡️Typically uses your default PC printer, unless you initate the automatic printing* by using the 'Synertec Printer' ️Backend printing ➡️Used for encounter-related in-patient printing (e.g. requisitions, wristbands, labels) and letters generated for outpatients. ➡️Some documents are sent for automatic printing*, based on predefined rules (e.g., filtering duplicates, excluding same-day appointments, or formatting specific documents). ➡️Printers are managed within eCARE by the Backoffice team. *Automatic printing ➡️A service that manages the printing and mailing of some patient letters. ➡️Is device specific rather than user, meaning these settings will not follow you to every device. Things to be aware of.. 🖥️Frontend Printing & Default Printer Issues Because some manual Frontend Printing relies on your default PC printer, the printer you see in eCARE may not be what you expect. Try this first: 1️⃣Log out of eCARE 2️⃣Change the default printer on your PC 2️⃣🅰️You many need to disable this option How to disable "Allow Windows manage my default printer" 3️⃣Log back into eCARE. Still not working? Log a ticket Submit an IT Incident ticket (available 24/7/365) or call the IT Service Desk ext. 87000 or 01908 997000 (available Mon-Fri 8am - 5pm). For who to call out of hours, please see : IT Emergency On-call 📢Note: Printers are added to PCs by IT managed groups. Printers should not be added manually to the printer. We have setup an automated Service Request to speed up the process, simply fill it in, then restart your PC to see the printer. Add Printer (Automation) ⚙️Backend Printing & Missing Printers Backend Printers are managed by the Backoffice team. If you can't see a printer in eCARE: 1️⃣Check your printer view - See the article 'Searching for eCARE printers' to ensure your printer view is set to 'All', not just 'Favourites' 2️⃣Still missing? Request the printer be added : Add Printer to eCARE Printer drop down List 🔄️Automatic Printing 1️⃣If letters aren't printing automatically in eCARE, request the relevant printer using this form Synertec Printing 💡Remember : Automatic printing is device specific rather than user, meaning these settings will not follow you to every device. 🖨️**Label Printing Due to the paper wastage when printing 24 labels via eCARE Label Qualifier and Face Sheets, we have developed the Patient Label app which allows staff to print a single label and rolled this out to some areas of the trust. How do I get access? 1️⃣If you already have a single label printer in your Ward / Department, then use this form to be given permission : Patient Label Access 🛒Should you wish to have this rolled out in your area, please contact DigitalSolutions@mkuh.nhs.uk.
